Gardening may not seem as strenuous as putting some miles on the treadmill or doing your weight workout, but studies have shown that it can certainly burn calories and can give you a “burn” like weight resistance when pulling weeds, hauling top soil bags, or pushing and pulling your hoe.

The other health benefits come in the way of calming our hectic days, reducing depression, being outside, and feeling responsible for nurturing living things. We also can’t forget the joy of taking a stroll among the beauty of the flowers or tasting the delicious vegetables we planted.
