This interesting article is about a study done with men in the U.K. Low testosterone levels may indicate other co-morbid conditions leading to heart disease and metabolic syndrome.

It is also worth noting that many women start to lose testosterone during the transitional years of menopause. Many will express concerns of weight gain and high cholesterol. No clinical trials have been done looking at low testosterone and early death in women, but this hormone may be more than just another anti-aging hormone.
