Here’s an interesting article predicting how we will be eating in the future. Predicting the trends of the next 5 years may not be so difficult with how the science and consciousness of people’s choices are becoming more relevant.
Convenience will continue to be important. So eating meals at home will become more popular.
Good bacteria has made headlines in the science news so some of this good stuff may be added to our foods to help with digestion.
With the public asking more questions about what’s in their food, restaurants are responding. Examples that have already taken place are removing antibiotics from meats (McDonald’s), removing artificial colors and preservatives (Panera) and removing titanium oxide on powdered donuts (Dunkin’ Donuts). These trends will continue as people are sick (literally) and tired of not knowing what they’re eating.
Healthy soil, locally grown foods and using more sustainable ingredients will also be a focus of the future.
